Welcome to my photography world! I'm Peter Stewart, a passionate photographer dedicated to capturing the beauty of life's moments through my lens. Whether it's a breathtaking landscape, a candid portrait, or an intimate event, I strive to create timeless images that tell a story.
My journey into photography began in 1986 while in the U.S Navy stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The beauty of that scenery and the vast colors during the balloon fiesta every year, drew me into the world of photography. Since then, it has evolved into more than just a passion—it's a way of seeing and sharing the world. With a keen eye for detail and a love for natural light, I aim to create authentic, emotive, and visually striking photographs.
My photographic interests are many. I enjoy aviation, landscape, wildlife, bird in flight, still life, macro, portraiture (both people and pets), and astrophotography. Capturing the grandeur of nature through landscape photography is one of my greatest passions, as it allows me to showcase the beauty of the world from unique perspectives. I also have a deep appreciation for bird photography. It offers the challenge of capturing these gorgeous creatures in flight while while at the same time enabling me to highlight the grace and vibrancy of avian life in its natural habitat. Pet photography is my most frequently performed genre. It lets me capture the unique personalities of the pets and the special bonds between pets and their owners, creating heartwarming and memorable images. I also have 3 dog models that work for snacks!
I’m a full time student at Manatee Technical College in the Digital Photography program. My goal is to become a professional photographer. I am an Adobe Certified professional in Photoshop, which allows me to enhance and refine my images with expert precision. My post-processing skills help bring out the best in every photograph, ensuring that each image is polished and visually striking. I have also achieved my Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), demonstrating my commitment to technical excellence, creativity, and professionalism in my craft. My organizational affiliations are the Florida Professional Photographers, Bay Professional Photographers Association, and Lakewood Ranch Digital Photography Club.
When I'm not behind the camera, you can find me hanging out with my lovely wife Ann Marie and our 3 labrador retrievers Ash, Angelica, and Portia. You will see their pictures peppered throughout my work.
